"Fraud is certainly national": in Oise, Lidl and Action pinned for having opened illegally

Lack of a certificate of conformity, problems with road markings, and unsuitable parking: minor irregularities in the layout have rendered the opening of two stores in the Oise department illegal, despite them having been operating for years. According to the association raising the alarm, the problem affects numerous stores.
By Julie MénardThe subject of the dispute may seem trivial. Ground markings in the parking lot, a green roof, bicycle parking spaces... It's hard to believe that a flaw in the design of these facilities could render an entire store illegal. However, this is indeed the case of the Lidl store opened in September 2021 in Mesnil-en-Thelle , in the Oise department .
Although the supermarket has just completed renovations, it was subject to criminal prosecution under the law because its parking lot was not suitable for pedestrians, bicycles, and people with reduced mobility. Among the irregularities noted were parking spaces that were paved instead of "permeable," meaning covered with a surface that promotes water runoff.
